If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

It says you are in the playoffs if you finish in the top 10 or make at least 2 qualifying passes at each Pro Stock event.

iagree This pertains to all pro classes, not pro stock only scope
Highest point earner during the play offs wins the championship up

“To better reward driver endurance”. Well then just revert back to the leader at the end of 24 events is the champ!!!! What a concept HUH?

I kind of get it, they are trying to give incentive for teams to make more passes, maybe go to the one event that is farther than they wanted, make that extra qualifying pass etc. All in the name of sending more cars down the track.

.......and for more innovation from NHRA, no payouts for MMPS. "Hey you can fuel your rigs with the "Exposure" we give you....so quit whining!"

'86 Maple Grove KOS Mopar low qualifier......true street legal with no power adders.

NOS-used when losing since 1940.

iagree

The new points system could make the fuel classes more exciting, though I doubt it. In PS there are about 6 or 8 cars that can win any event, the rest for the most part are cannon fodder. If there is no money for making the "chase" why would some of the lesser funded teams make long tows just to make two qualifying runs to make the "chase"? I don't see the incentive.
