'99 Grand Cherokee Laredo, 4.0 auto

Daughter left her heated blanket plugged in to the accessory port overnight which naturally lead to a dead battery next morning. Tried jumping without success. Would turn over but not fire. So hooked it to a battery charger the day. Still won't fire. Knowing the CPS in these can fail by looking at it cross-eyed, and having previously had the identical issue in another GC fixed by replacing the sensor, I picked up a new unit and swapped it out. Once done, turned the key, thing spun over, but still wouldn't fire. Did check various fuses and relays and all are conducting when they are supposed to. Gave it a quick shot of starting fluid, turned over, still no fire. So I'm thinking it something in the ignition circuit but not sure how to begin troubleshooting that. Suggestions?

Security light on. Try putting the key in the door lock and unlocking and unlocking three times.

Doesn't have the factory security system on it. I had a '97 Limited that this trick worked on, but no go on the '99.

Is there an easy way to check for spark on these? The big coil on plug bar doesn't look like an inline tester would easily work.

So, did a PCM reset, ( ground positive cable to chassis after disconnecting from battery)got it to start up and seems to run okay. Got some more digging to do as something in the system is weird and caused some sort of error. Noticed occasionally when starting, the passenger rear window rolls down on its own.

You might see what the voltage is doing while cranking, low voltage when cranking causes crazy problems and is hard on sensitive electronics.

Remember the A post wiring issues near the door hinges. Just saying. Nothing to do with the no start issue.
