My RR came from the factory with undercoating.
Then one of the 1st 2 owners decided to go with the back in the day Ziebart treatment. You know holes, squirt and plastic plug.
He did one more step and sprayed the trunk down pretty thick with the stuff.
I guess it worked because the trunk is rock solid along with the rest of the car.

Now I am taking the stuff out, its a really fun project.
I have been using a heat gun scrapper and lacquer thinner with mixed results.

I know this is a tedious project and will require time and work.

I was just wondering what some other members have done or tried in the past.
Any "Silver Bullet" solutions anyone has?

I am working out of a small garage and don't have access to any high speed tools

Thanks
Matt

The best way Ive found is take a small propane torch , heat a metal blade scraper ( with a wood handle ) , best size Ive found is about a 1.5" width scraper.
Heat the blade, not the panel. The blade does NOT have to be red hot. The stuff will just peel right off.
I did the entire floorpan on a 1968 Charger in a day

ps, I do not get the torch anywhere near the panel. for fear of warping it of any amount.

Works for me. Plus I use wire brushes. Heat the undercoating and brush. This works well when coating is thin, or on odd shaped surfaces.

Anyone tried an ocillating tool with a flexible scraper blade? I've not had to deal with ziebart yet have removed a lot of various other crud using the tool. Nice thing is no noxious fumes. After, use a scotch brite pad and wipe down with acetone and all is good.

Heat gun on lower setting over an apx. one foot area a couple mins to soften -
for me was best ( torch would ignite the tar )
when most was removed then Mineral Spirits ( softens the coating ) in a spray bottle using an old rag to wipe down the metal.
then to prep - Acetone or 'Wax - Grease' remover as a cleaner.

one of my cars once removed undercoating had some smaller rust spots,
I then used Ospho solution from Ace Hardware. twocents
