The parts manual for the interconnecting rod between carb levers shows a part number change for the rear Rod end in 70/71 versus the part number for 66-69. Also both of the swivels (mount rod ends to carb lever) changed part numbers in 68 and again the rear only swivel changed in 70-71.

Is there some slight difference in shape of the swivels and rear rod end. The front carb rod end kept the same part number 66-71.

Any comparison pictures to show the difference? Thanks,

George, evidently there is a difference, the shorter one is the one on my 62 which is an original from a 62 300 H,it is the same as the 68/69, the other one I am 99% sure is 70, is 1/2" longer, has the slot 1/2" forward and slot is 1/4" longer.

Bill and Hemirr thanks. I guess with that wider slot the swivel bolt might have a wider shoulder?? Anyone confirm an original 70 swivel and rod end? Thanks,

George,I have at least a 1/2 dz. swivel bolt, they are all the same.I think the reason the one slot looks wider is that the end on the long one is about 1/16 " narrower with thinner sides and when slot was punched it bulged the middle where as the other has more material and didn't bulge.I put the one with the bulged sides in the vise, gave it a little pressure and the slot width is now identical.I have a friend in TX that has a 70 Hemi Cuda, talked to him last night and he confirmed the longer one is the same as on his car so evidently the longer is the 70 /71.Don't see any reason for change, carb spacing is the same, throttle linkage the same and once adjusted, over all length is the same. The only reason I can see for a longer rod end is if the connecting rod was shortened. shruggy

Thanks guy. Find it a little funny that all the reproduction says 66-71 for the linkage rod. They also show the same for the swivel bolt and nut, though one dealer shows a nut for the swivel with large washer as 66-67 and one with a smaller washer as 68-71.

As far as the mopar parts book it showed the there was a change to the swivel part number in 68 for both, stayed same for 69. Then in 70 the Rear swivel only changed. So three different rear swivels and 2 different front swivels. Could it be just the nut changed?

Looked at a bunch of pictures on the web of ""OEM correct cars"" with 70 hemi's and they all looked like the early style. Did not see one "original" car with the longer rear rod end. blush shruggy
