Agree with it or not, Racetracks are making money off that style racing. the longer the tracks can operate the longer I can race my slow junk. I would be willing to bet the attendance rivals an NHRA meet.... Just wish one was closer than 7 hours.

Hey don't get me wrong. Butts in seats help keep drag strips viable. And ANY drag racing is better than 99.9% of the crap on tv. All good just not really "street racing" style. When run what you brung is a semi loaded with spare parts that is not what I have in mind. I would still go and watch and all. Maybe they will get more "local flavor" this way and that would be good. Todd Why are some of you guys hung up on the “street Racing” deal. This is not Street Outlaws. It’s No Prep Kings thanks god and they race on a drag strip where mature smart guys race. Most of us grew up doing it but wisely moved away from it (street racing” as we grew up.

Why do you think it took Big Cheese So long to join the party. He finally wised up and saw the writing on the wall that their street outlaws show was sucking hind tit. No prep at a track is where it’s at and Discovery Channel is probably very lucky no one was killed.

These are full blown, pure a$$ race cars, most with a pretty healthy budget running the series. Most of these guys have the top of the line equipment, at least the completive car do.

The no prep stuff is getting more and more popular around here. They had a $20k race at 710 dragstrip in NC the Saturday before Christmas and it was packed. Cars pre-entered from OH, NY, MD, etc. They start in the shutdown area. I'd have gone to watch but our big family Christmas party was the same night. I say watch, b/c there isn't a chance in hell of me running a no prep race. More like a demo derby, but fun to watch. They wadded up 3 cars that night. Dig or Die is the name of it, vids all over youtube of it.

I've never been because this track even on a regular race night the starting line is not good and I'd rather not bend my car up or have someone else bend it up for me.

August dates seem in the wrong order as far as traveling, imo. NHRA use to do the western swing from Denver to Seattle and then down to Infineon in CA. It makes a lot more sense to go from Denver to Infineon and then up to Seattle and then back to Brainerd, MN I'm sure the tracks have other events scheduled during the summer so maybe that was part of the decision making on this Any one have any idea how quick you need to run to qualify at theses races?

Cab...I'm not sure they let anyone other than the "regulars" run these races now. They used to let some locals try to "race in" the night before for a couple of open spots, but there was none of that this past season.
Pretty sure they all run at least bottom 4s in the 1/8. Some are 3 sec capable.

Best racing show on tv and not a good word to say about it. What a bunch of dorks. Lol. Hey Oprah’s on guys. Its a "reality" TV show using "street racers". I watch it at times but would not spend time or money to see it live. I'm usually at the track racing my car.

I plan on going to some of these with my Magnum. If you see a black Magnum running there, come by and introduce yourself. Dennis
