I looked on your site & saw the sales document showing the CA license plate "X 62 994" was already assigned to the car when sold to 20th Century Fox. Plates stay with the car once registered in CA, IMO this plate was for an owner between Chrysler & 20th Century Fox - likely some type of commercial limousine service. X 62994 should be a commercial plate. Most Livery plates start with Z

Too bad records do not exist anymore to trace the original owner of X 62 994 or the previous owner or company might be found of the car prior to its modification. I am told California only keeps DMV paperwork for 10 years. 7 years

per Darrell Davis:
region 15 = company accounts/home office
region 16 = company accounts/field locations
region 42 = DETROIT (dealer franchise)
there is not a specific "dealer" associated with 81100
it's a company car arraigned/managed/based out of the Lynch Rd. assembly plant
by comparison:
15 81101 would be associated with a company car arraigned/managed/based out of Chrysler Corp. Central Operations 341 Massachusetts Ave. Highland Park, MI
what kind of car is it? can you share a copy of the IBM card? Do you know what dealer code 82040 is? This is another Region 15 car that also is marked as Export. A 1960 Chrysler 300F.

82040 is shown as:
Chrysler Corp. Chrysler Imperial Division
12200 E. Jefferson
Detroit, MI 48215
on a document dated 8/23/70
Thanks. the car is in Sweden now but was bought in the US. It doesn't have export tags on it so I suspect an American overseas bought it or it was sent there for press use as it's a very early car that was built before the official introduction. It has a code 629 on the build card that we don't know what it means.
