Has anyone seen one of the Holley in tank efi modules built on a factory type fuel pick-up? they are model specific and of course have no Mopar options but I figured it couldn't be that hard to modify a 3/8 fuel pick up.

You'd need the hydromat pickup pad for sure, otherwise fuel slosh will be an issue.

If it was me, I'd still run a feed/return system with a regulator at the front. If you get some air in a system like this, the check valve isn't that great, car sits for a long time, any restriction of any kind (including running a fuel filter) and you can have a whole lot of issues. A feed/return system, maybe you have to flip the key on and off a few times.

Yes I've seen them. I helped a guy with a Mustang project where he used one of those pumps. It worked really well.

I did something similar when I put Projection on my Diplomat. They didn't have hydramat back in the 90's though so it didn't work so well and I ended up going with a surge tank. But I have been impressed with Hydramat and I bet that would have fixed my fuel starvation issues.

You are right, it didn't take much to mod the pickup to make it work. But, and this may be important, the Diplomat already had an in tank pump to feed the mechanical pump, factory setup, so it had the extra electrical connections already there. Not sure how you'd deal with that.

REALLY? I have had an 85 and an 89 diplomat over the years both were police package cars. I know the 85 didn't have any electric pump in it, never had the tank down in the 89 to tell.
I have a 80 volare that I am redoing, and I know that the tank between a diplomat and a volare will directly interchange. Am neck deep in body work, a ways from reassembly, but have a couple of different ideas for a fuel/induction system. Currently on the fence between keeping it carbd or putting some form of injection on to it. Was the tank or sending unit different on your diplomat?

On another note I also discovered that the tank from a 91-95 minivan is really close match to a diplomat or volare tank, biggest difference in the minivan tank is where the nipple for the filler neck is, which can be moved. This was the route that was thinking about using if I went injected. Fuel pump (itself) is the same as in a early 90s Dakota, which was one idea I had for my project to use if I went injected. I have a whole harness around somewhere from a 92/3 v8 Dakota which was the EFI system that I was gonna go with if I don't keep it carbureted.
You might similarly find a newer vehicle whose fuel tank is close to what you have and likewise already set up for an internal pump and sending unit.
