Thats how I pronounce it in my head to help me remember how to spell his name.  D wayne ,,,, Like when people spell my name Charley ,,,I'm like WTH, thats not how you spell my name LOL

Oh..... you’d be surprised at how often I get that one too.
I always just thought that was someone misspelling “Dwayne”....... and I suspect that’s how it came to be originally....... but it is one way to spell it....... and it’s pronounced the same.
I tell people....... it’s Wayne...... with the letter D in front.
