Hello. New here. Have 1998 Jeep GC 5.9 magnum. only has 100.677 miles on it. Stock. Currently have 8.8 rear axle ready if my D44A snaps. I know my trans is weak. 46RE. But i'm looking at WHIPLASH PREMIUM CAM KIT. It includes.
SMC1326AL Whiplash Camshaft
HUG5001 Lifter Set
HUG1110 Spring Set
HUG6440 Timing Chain & Gear Set
HUG22041 Distributor Shaft Collar.

My goal is 300/310 crank. I have 52 mm tb on the way + Spectre LoPro hat.

Is this set good my goal? My truck will be driven during summer only and used for streets.

Your computer isn't going to like it.

Your power brakes aren't going to like it. To quote Hughes "Your vacuum should be in the 9"-11" range using this cam" power brakes like to see 17" minimum and you won't even be close.

Your pushrods will be too short, it's a flat tappet cam and your 5.9 has a roller cam in it now.

You might want to look at the hughes steamroller cam for the magnum, or similar cam from comp, headers, slight internal intake mods, aluminum plate kit hughes sells for the intake, and headers. Do not change to a single plain crosswind or edelbrock intake in a truck, you will hate it.

You also need to change valve springs, AND the stock heads will not take a lot of lift, like .480 comes to mind or you get retainer to guide boss and valve seal problems. Call Dave and ask, been a while since I messed with stock heads

Hughes replied exactly at same time as you and said this wouldn't work either. They are gonna help me put something together.

For your build I'd keep the Beer Keg manifold but get Hughes's bottom plate.
