Anyone know what this thing is? Don't have any other pictures of it. Looks like some kind of tool or things to hang on, like maybe a ladder??

That is one of the several attachments used on "lay op sticks" used in telephone work on outside plant, wires, trees and so on. I had and used one for many years doing telephone line work and telephone installations work We had tree trimmers operated by rope, tree saw and several other attachment to make our work easier and faster by doing some of it from the ground The sticks where right at 60 inches long, male and female ends so you could use one, two, three or four by assembling them hook together to reach up to 30 ft. or so. Ours where all galvanized, no paint. That is the first one I've seen painted I can't remember the proper name of that tool now, it has been more than 35 yrs since using one

i've always called those pike poles. don't really know where that name came from. Pole pikes have a spike on the end of them that you stuck in the side of a pole to move it and hold it straight until you get it tamped in. Most all trucks have pole claws to hold the poles now but you can't always use the truck and when using a crane we use them to push the pole against the side of the boom so you can use the crane to straighten the pole. https://www.hubbell.com/hubbellpowe...t-Assist-Tool/Pike-Pole-2-X-18/p/1648788
