IIRC, '02 wiring changed and nothing is compatible with the older stuff, correct? Found a good deal on a nice '02 Dakota w/ a bad trans and was thinking of swapping in the 5.9 & 5 spd. from the Durango.

Well it is conceivably doable since they are both PCI bus. Mopar swap grid

Jonesy- looks like '01-up is PCI while my '00 Durango is CCD. I would have sworn I bought an '01 Ram manual trans PCM but maybe it was a '00. I'm guessing the PCI & CCD PCMs are not compatible? Truck has a 5.9 and a bad tranny. I thought to swap in the 5 spd. & the manual PCM but may have to buy an '01-up PCM? Hey Jackie, no, it's a blue one w/ a 5.9. There is a silver one up your way with a 4.7. Tim

The two are not compatible but you could possibly make it work if you can swap the cluster as well.

Sorry. Forgot I turned off my sig which would have shown the Durango. And it was an '01 Ram PCM. Just thought to take another look at the link you posted and Ram was still CCD in '01. IIRC, I thought about swapping in the cluster and column from the '01 Dakota I bought for the 5 spd. swap but it was just different enough it wouldn't work. I'll keep looking for a '00 Dakota quad cab. I'm sure one will pop up sooner or later. Thanks for the heads-up, Jackie. Been looking for a quad cab for a while now. Not sure I told you about being sideswiped on both sides or if you noticed it when we met up in Commerce. Too expensive to fix, too good a drivetrain to waste, and really miss having a truck also. Thanks for the link, Jackie. I actually wound up buying a 2wd as it was too cheap to pass up. QC 5 spd. truck missing the engine. Base Sport model but after a little research the PW, mirrors, and seats will transfer over with a minimum of effort. Tim

It was in Cartersville, GA (30 mi. one way). Had been on FB for a month or so. Drove out to look at it and SIL talked me into buying it. He wants to paint it for me. Mounts are there as is everything but the engine. Good thing about the mounts is it was a 3.9 and Durango is 4wd which uses a different mount. Tim
