I am trying to get my demon on the road. I'm looking at buying shocks front and rear. Current set up is a relatively mild big block. I have split mono leaves in the back with assassin bars. Front is slant six torsion bars. I was looking at qa1 da stocker shocks. It will be getting a bigger bullet next year so want to buy what will work with both set ups. Will eventually get a tubular k member as well. Can ya'll point me in the right direction? Any dealers on here? I'm not set on the qa1, just don't want to buy what wont work. Thanks
I may be asking to much for a single shock. The engine in the car now produces around 425 hp. The new engine will be 1000 plus. Waiting on parts, then off to the dyno.

I was just looking at the Vikings. I don't want to cheap out on them, but I don't have santuff (sp) budget either. I agree with MPB. Buy the best you can afford. I run Vikings on all four corners. A very nice shock for the price, BUT...I'm not making a ton of power (450) so the valving will easily controlled anything I can throw at it even with a clutch. Viking does have a line of shocks that you can change the valving in, or they do it...I forget which way it is. They are also making some shocks with pretty aggressive valving. May be worth a call to get the correct shock the first time. They are very helpful.
Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston

Normally I would recommend AFCO Big Guns or something similar for a mid-level DA shock. But1000HP on leafs? Menscer. Or maybe get one of the higher end companies (JRI, Penske, the new AFCOs) involved on a custom deal. 3 ways, 4 ways, gas assist, electric - shock tech is crazy now.
A big horsepower suspension deal may be made to work with a low horsepower combination, but something that's just OK for the little motor won't have a chance at 4 digit power levels. Plus I don't think you want to beat up high dollar custom parts on the street. Could always have cheap stuff to put on for the street. Just don't expect it to work like the good stuff.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

This is a drag week/race week car, so it will get lots of street time. Last year's race week, took us down some pretty rough roads in Nebraska and Colorado. I'm not going to swap shocks from race to drive.

We've recently swapped out the front shocks on ours from Menscer valved Afco's to Santhuffs. By the time Menscer had done the work they were around the same price. The car is a wheelstander and has come down hard a few times and damaged stuff in the past, the Santhuffs seem to cope much better on the landing with no bounce like the Afco's. Car 60fts better with the Santhuffs but that may be because I have more confidence off the line now
