Found a 2011 I like a lot, but it has not been deleted. Whats the cost to have one done or a good link to a kit to do it myself?

Cost can vary depending on what you want to do. I have a friend that still does this on the side and he’s said anywhere from 1500 to 3k. I believe he’s using the EFI Live tuners.

I brought an 11 home from work that I thought I wanted. Lucky I did as I discovered either it was a dog, or my lightly modded 01 really works well. The 11 wouldn’t go over 45mph up the gawd awful grade we have to go up to get out of town with my race trailer in tow. Pretty disappointing considering it had 6 speeds and a 3.7 gear over my 4spd 3.5 gear tractor. Oh well, kept what I had. I had full plans to delete the 11 if purchased so perhaps the tuner would have leveled the playing field.

FWIW my opinion of the 14 newer Cummins equipped Ram is VERY high.

I have done EGR deletes on just about everything diesel related butt never a 6.7 so take this for what it's worth, I have never seen one cost near $1500 unless you are buying the absolute top of the line frivolous stuff that is not needed just to delete EGR. Really expensive tuners and such is what I am refering to, most of them you can delete the EGR mechanically very easily with some very basic hoses and home made plates, shutting off the electronical part is the most expensive part and you do not usually need an expensive tuner just to shut it off (and they usually come with some mild sort of tune), the expensive tuners do a bunch more stuff than just shut off EGR.

Well I’ve been out of the performance side of the Cummins equipped Dodge/Ram for a number of years. I find that they’re mostly a pita especially if things go south. I find that is most cases you “dance with the devil” and create a pickup nobody can work on. That said, back in the day, when the 6.7 came out and reared its ugly egr/soot related problems H&S was a godsend... $700 bucks for a tuner and a dpf delete pipe and you were on the road. They were made in St. George UT, and were easy to get ahold of and often had “updates” that were accessible on their web site and I even called them on a couple occasions with customer vehicle issues. AND THEN... the EPA got their panties in a wad. Suddenly any US companies were sent running like cockroaches when the light came on... nobody knew nuttin. H&S Performance suddenly became H&S Motorsport and to this day you can click on the “tuners” link on their site and it tells you “you’re at the wrong website”.... yeah right. I THINK they still make the product, but now it’s shipped and resold out of Canada back to the US..... but zero to very little product support. EFI Live (New Zealand) supports their product and that’s why my friend uses their stuff. A quick search will show the tuner north of 1k.

Like I said..... the 14 and newer package has been pretty dang good, even with the DEF.
