Customer said his E body back seat trunk divider doesnt fit in his Challenger.

I just dug the back seat out of my own 71 Challenger and it fits great. Probably 1/16" gap by the wheel wells. No bind at all even with 1/8" of Dynamat on each side. I even put it in backwards like the customer and even with the driveshaft tunnel cutout in the wrong place it still fits great. I've sold hundreds of these so if there were some oddities they would have popped up by now.

What could it be.........
Someone replaced the wheel wells?
Factory tolerance issue?
Convertible? (I asked - no reply yet)
My car has special narrow wheel wells?

Hi Jim,

When your dealing with the average "auto enthusiast", some customer's can be all thumbs, geezzzz how "off" can the fit be?, it's a piece of cardboard, trim to fit if need be.... If the customer's car is modified that's his/her problem

I actually though maybe the wheel wells were modified or replaced. The wheel well seams look like they have a slathering of sloppy sealer on them up compared to mine or Bob's pictures.

I once had a customer say the holes in the drivers side engine well splash shield (used on all 66-70 B bodies)) were off. He was the only customer out of thousands of those that I've sold over the years. I'm sure it had to have been some collision repair or metal replacement in the cars history that was at fault. But if I remember correctly he was convinced my part was wrong. As much as I don't like hearing the phrase myself cause I think its BS when I hear it I told him "you're the first person thats ever said this part doesn't fit" smile

Thanks Bob!

lol, you People are too kind.

If I worked in Customer Service, my first question would be: "rate your own level of common sense on a scale of 1 to 10".
