Hi,

I've got to change out a valve cover gasket on a set of direct connection aluminum valve covers. I really liked the old direct connection rubberized paper laminate gasket. Now, Direct connection is geared towards the newer cars and cant seem to find any 440 parts.

Is the Felpro 1612 the same gasket? any thoughts or comments?

I know its a lame question, but I am getting ready to retire and plan on fixing up my street cruiser.

Thanks Mike.

I would contact Greg at Superformance gaskets and tell him what you have and he will tell you what you need. I use all his stuff and my engine is leak free thumbs

The best gaskets I found were the Fel Pro VR 13379 R. These are the ones that are just soft rubber and seal really well. I’ve tried others, and always went back to these.

I agree. Felpros work great with the Direct Connection valve covers.

Yes, Fel Pro 1612 is what you want for the Mopar Performance covers. That gasket is about the only one that will work with the MP covers. The MP covers are made incorrectly which is why they destroy most gaskets. The MP covers are wider than the head rails so the gasket gets twisted when the covers are torqued down.

I have had the best luck with Moroso 93055 gaskets. Have had them on my big block for 5 seasons. Have had the covers off and on before ea season to check lash. I use the mopar finned covers.

Ok

Hey Mike, would you be related to Ray Swann out of Burbank area? Ran a dirt SprintCar and had some old racecars in his collection?
