I'm building a little duster street car. I haven't decided on turbo or NOS. I have both power adder but leaning towards the turbo. Does anyone have a turbo small block duster that can share pics of the engine so i can see what i have to do? This will be a blow thru set up. I'm looking to see the exhaust and plumbing set. Thanks

Dizuster is in China for 2 weeks for work. With no power steering you can turn magnum truck manifolds around backward. With PS it gets a little tougher. as one manifold gets an adapter and is turned upside down. This is a B body but we've fitted them in A body as well.

Do you have pics of the right side?..did you buy the exhaust between the manifold? Why no headers?

Really no need. These aren't even the big outlet manifolds. I believe they're1 7/8". Its been 9.55@14, 3750lbs. There's way more left in it. However the factory cast crank might not like it.

73 Duster here. I mounted mine further to the passenger side than Dizuster and have a smaller framed 78/75 T4 turbo than his S400. Flipped magnum manifolds, relocated alternator to driver side, and a remote oil filter to sneak the downpipe through. No cutting of anything. The junction off the passenger manifold to the turbo inlet merge probably isnt ideal, but it'll work for my goals. Microsquirt with LS throttle body/coils/sensors and a crank position sensor from SD Concepts on the board here.

Where is Jody Babcock? He has one of the cleanest SBM single turbo set ups out there!

i like your set up...so using manifolds are ok vs headers? I'm looking at a 76mm turbo and blow Th
through carb. I just don't want to get to involved then change my mind and throw on the induction solutions plate that i already have.

Here is a early A-body with a 360 I am currently doing. This is my first turbo piping build so I'm learning as we go. I can tell you its tight! I think twins would almost be easier and dual waste-gates would probably help as well...

What size converter are you guys running??

Turbo oil drain into the fuel pump block off rather than pulling the pan to install a bulkhead...

It's not so much about the size, as it is who's converter it is/what version.

I have tried many converters. The problem with a turbo car is getting it to stall high enough on motor alone to light the turbo, but tight enough that once the boost comes on it doesn't stall too high.

For example... I had had many iterations of the lower cost 9.5" PTC. It worked extremely well at moderate HP levels (say below 650~700hp or so). But when I really started turning up the boost/power, it just wouldn't work. The last version of that converter Kenny (from PTC) and I tried, would stall 2200rpm on motor, and 5600rpm on full boost. The 2200rpm made it EXTREMELY slow to spool, and the 5600rpm was just WAY to high for this motor.

After that I moved to another 9.5" Nissan Core PTC converter. This one now stalls about 3400rpm on motor only (which makes it easy to build boost and bracket race), and stalls about 5200rpm on full boost (which is a lot better for this motor). It also cost 3x as much though!!!!
