Hello. I have a 1974 W200 Power Wagon.

Can and/or how is the Metal Headliner removed from inside the cab? I would like to work on a few dents and access/push them out from inside the cab.

Thanks

it appears that you're just seeing the inside skin of the cab. No detachable headliner.

The trucks that had headliners had clips that attached a fiber-board backed headliner

Thanks for the reply.

The Roof is definitely double-walled construction (inner and outer roof panels).

So does that mean there is no way to remove the inner shell short of cutting it out?

Thanks.

If you can't reach the dents from the visor holes or cargo light hole then you'll have to pull them out.

Thanks for the reply.

So, the inner panel is crimped or soldered or welded to the cab...

When someone replaces the roof panel entirely, then they need to deal with the inner panel too I guess.

The roof has lots of small dents (as purchased) and would be easier to work from both sides, but I guess paintless dent repair and weld-on studs (plus a little body filler) will need to do the job.

Thanks.

Still have it, though the paint has deteriorated a bit.

I also own an airplane (Beech Bonanza) that eats up most of my free time and $$$.

In addition, have had a couple V8 CJ5 Jeeps (since the 1990’s) and bought this ‘74 Dodge Power Wagon 5-years ago. Took the trans out to rebuild 4-years ago, and it’s sat on the work bench since, though I’m finally working on it again.

Hope you’re doing well too.

Doing good. up Retired a few years back. Son still has the '71 Charger. Your pic didn't show up last night for some reason. My first new vehicle was a '74 W100 in light green. Looks like yours is the same color. boogie

Did mine last summer. Cut the top skin. I had major rust issues on the front of the cab. My buddies shop found a real nice skin. He also cleaned up the inner panel and laid in some Raptor.

Thanks for the replies.

Good to know.

My ‘74 W200 was first sold as a Pacific Telephone Utility truck but had a utility truck bed at a minimum. It may have been a bucket-truck
The paint....guessing it was originally White (engine bay, roof, etc) but the interior was green and the lower body Pacific Telephone Green as well, so two-tone green and white. A subsequent owner swapped on a standard 8-foot Sweptline bed.

When I received it, pretty rough looking, no front bumper, mangled step rear bumper, no Tailgate, no defroster grill, etc. Still has quite a way to go before I consider it acceptable, but getting the Trans rebuilt and re-installed is priority one.

This is what it looked like when I bought it in 2014, and more recently.
