Not enough info, but not a crazy price and I can't see any rust in the VERY limited pics. The one and only E58 I've owned (in an '80 Aspen A38) was very impressive for that era car. Very impressive.

I'd like to see a SC (real or a copy) done up with a modern Hemi (doesn't have to be a Hellcat Hemi), Leave it looking stock but be all modern underhood....... work Santa4

I looked at a Super Coupe about .6 months ago, that has been left out in the elements to die,and the guy wants $6500.00 for it,I was thinking $1500.00 on its best day! It's still sitting there!

I knew a guy who had one new. Sam {AKA} Sambo!
It was black just like that. He chromed everything put 5 spoke Cragers on it. Headers and ran open headers and made it into a show car as he added candy stripes my other friend painted on it over the stock mint paint. He later painted the bottom black and stiped that to match. I helped sand the bottom and tape the stripes up to be painted.
I met his son; last year after many years. His son happened to be working for the city He was looking at my car when they were doing work on the drains in front of my home. We got to talking and he says I have am Aspen. I said I used to know a Guy Named Sambo who had a Super Coupe with a 360 and told him how it was set up. And that he towed it with an old Red Coke Truck to shows. He says what? that's my dad. He was blown away I knew his dad back in the day. He says the car is now in bad shape but he will fix it up since it was his dads car who is now gone.
That Car was slow as a Slug but sounded wild with a large cam, open headers, no gears, and no stall. He made it even slower LOL

I realize Allpar very well may be wrong, but this is what they have them listed at: 360 E58 4 220 @ 4000 rpm 280 @ 3200.

Also, I don't have to haul a** every where I go. My E58 Aspen had more than enough smooth crisp power for me to daily drive if I wanted, and sounded oh so good when I mashed the pedal and that thermoquad opened up the secondaries. It was truly a pleasure to drive.

I think the E58 has 220HP in the little red trucks, duel pipes!always thought 195HP in kit cars no twice pipes!

I love that body style and have owned a couple of F Body cars, a 76 and a 78, never cared for the 1980 due to the grill. That SC would be a great one to build if it’s solid, easy to get some nice power out of the 360 if built correctly and keep it easy and fun to drive without spending a ton on an engine swap etc.

The 1978 little red truck engine is not the same as the stock E58 engine. The little red truck engine, had a 68 340 speck cam lifters and valve springs, as well as a double roller timing chain, 800 cfm fireball thermoquad carb, and no emission control equipment or catalytic converters, and it had a true dual exhaust system with equalizer crossover pipe.

Just check for rust carefully. Good parts aren`t that easy to find anymore. Front frame rail rust bad on those cars. They get water trapped in them. The cowls rust out too from trapped water. The quarters rust on the lower parts behind the door along with the normal places..BTW, Not being critical just trying to make you aware if you are not. I love the F bodies and I agree with the other post about not caring for the 80 as much. They got too close to looking like a Nova.

78/79 was my favorite nose. I ended up with an '80 only because it was an E58 and remarkably solid. Yes, too Nova-ish.

Granted, the 60's and early 70's were the bestest, but there's still some fun to be had at a much lower price, and with a LOT less worry, and still keeping it Mopar. Even my Diplomat AHB's are lots of fun in pretty much stock form (ones I've left stock).

Put on a "Canadian Y Pipe" (catless), maybe dual exhaust and a good tune up if needed and a possibly carb rebuild and electronic ignition swap, and they are plenty of daily driving fun! I was just looking back at the old Hot Rod magazine write up in which they played with one, titled "Stealth Bomber", and they got 176hp at the wheels in stock form from a retired '89 Diplomat! It was rated at 175 new. I think that's pretty cool for 1989, with 3 cats, and 8.4 compression grin

I always like the look of Super Coupes especially w/ t-tops. Yeah, the E58 was a bit too smogged to be big fun but that can fixed. This was from a Mopar rag some years back and may have been Ehrenberg.
