You can't go wrong with either. I have Cal tracs on my car and no complaints. I have thought about switching to the Smith bars for a little more adjustability but I've been 1.24 short time and not sure how much more I could do with a DOT approved 26" radial tire

Does anyone have a picture of how the shocks mount on the Assassin spring plates?

It may be different based on the application. I cut the shock plates down on my 65 Dodge pickup because the stock shock mount plate wouldn't fit with the Assassin rear end plate. I don't have a picture but I ended up with a shock mount plate that only uses 2 holes so it fits on one side of the Assassin plate.

I have heard of high HP cars bending springs at the cross bolt with cal tracs. That's one of the reasons I went with assassin bars plus theres more adjustability. They are very nice! I also went with smiths spring perches for them. Along with calvert split monos and sliders.

All the additional holes of the Assassin bars are only of benefit if you have a solid baseline from which to tune, as well as the time to test the various configurations. If not, I can see people getting lost among all the possibilities. There's something to be said for keeping the options to a usable minimum.

.. Agreed ..it's like buying a flashy fishing lure..99% of users More adjustment is not needed they have issues in other areas that need to be addressed... A lot of times more adjustability creates more variables and issues from what I have seen

I'm a bit surprised you haven't bent a spring yet as quick as you are in 60 feet.

There are holes for front or rear mount shocks. I thought they came with the studs but I can't find them so I can't confirm... Sorry it sideways..

. Call Calvert tell them what the application and hp level is and they will set you up with the Spring that . Will be trouble free.

Its a known fact that much over 800 hp cal tracs bend split monos eventually. If youre at or above that hp level go with assassin bars.

Ran CalTracs leaf springs and bars for years. Tried both holes and settled on the lower hole.
Best 60 ft@ 3700 lbs (race weight) 1.38. Best et was 9.88@ 135
Used stock shock plates and reinforced the spring perches.
I would recommend them.

There are (a lot) of other variables in addition to HP that would contribute to that.
