First of all, I just wanted to say thank you for all the info I have received on Moparts for my tech needs, Been soo much stress relieving to hear some honest answers to my questions here.

So as some of you know, I have been in the process of having my 1972 Dodge Charger 340 Rallye restored with a few personal touches. Currently looking to get a correct looking battery that would be for that model of car/drivetrain. Now I only need the case as I plan to put a smaller, more powerful gel type battery hidden inside it. Do I use a Red or Yellow top? Which series does it take? Does anybody make them, or is there an alternative?

I use the battery topper over my favorite parts jobber battery.
The caps can be removed and painted whatever color to look correct.

Yeah I know of that stuff. Not really what I’m looking for. I’m looking for one that looks factory on the outside and the late
Model batteries don’t have the same look, plus the battery I like is similar to an optima (forgot the name) has better cranking amps for my needs than most off the shelf batteries around here. Thanks though.

Have you tried antique auto battery? I purchased a group 24 yellow cap there 7 years ago and it still works great, just purchased another this past spring, there was a bit of a wait but showed up.

I will can’t heck them out. Thanks for the lead on that. I wonder if anyone would be willing to sell empty cases.
