I was surprised to see Chief get taken out by the blower car, was he having issues? It was impressive to see the drivers of some of the cars under them wrenching and getting greasy, not your typical NHRA show. I did notice also, that some of the cars had what looked like weight numbers in the windows, what were the breaks for different power adders? Jim

Not sure a lot of folks here know the history of Bobs car. Maybe he can share some of its history. They have been running that car for a very long time. It was fast with a nitrous small block, a blown small block, a turbo small block and blown hemi and a turbo hemi smile I think I got them all. I have no doubt that Bob, Jason and Giuseppe will get the new car sorted out in short order..

I don't for sure but the word I got was he wanted to get paid to show up and he wasn't considered at that level. To be fair there were other stories but that's the one I found most plausible.

We decided to just be ourselves. Some found us boring but many others approved. I will keep you guys up to date as this adventure continues next season. Honestly, we had more fun racing this series than we ever had in any kind of racing before. The racers are really good guys(mostly) and the crowds were phenomenal. This truly challenged us in every way possible.

There are a few but most are chassis cars.

Yes Al, you have been around for all of them. This one is, by far, the quickest and fastest. The bickel chassis car should be even better.

Can't say I blamed Ryan for doing it though. Especially after Birdman lifting and giving Murillo the win to lock up the championship last year. I thought it was funny that no one b!tched about it when Boosted was doing it for Kayla. One of the main reasons she finished as high in points as she did. rolleyes

We won Outlaw 10.5 at the YB nationals with this chassis a few years back. That was the procharged hemi version.

I truly hope they eliminate first round call outs for next season.

Gotta agree on losing the callout deal; it seems to add an unpleasant sidebar, and kinda kinks the outcome.

I gotta ask, BobR, why a new Mustang body? (I don't have a problem with it, just curious)

At the speeds they're running, I'd think aero would be a big consideration.

My take is TV will do the best they can to keep the call-outs as you know they want to add to the drama and build story lines, if they get rid of the call-outs they will have to get more cases of water for Chuck to throw on people, spit at , ect.
Years ago we did a complete house build in a week for Extreme Makeover, as the week went along the director/producer crew did everything in there power to make drama and then made sure they got our reactions when it hit the fan......
Thanks for all your input here BobR, got quite a bit from Boddie as well a few weeks back and looking forward to see what lies ahead next year. ;-)

It is hard for me in my area to see the Mustang and Vixen run. I have a hard time routing for a Mustang over a Challenger. I know Bobs car has a Hemi in but it's still a Ford. Sorry Bob.

That's easy. The wheelbase is what we feel is perfect for this stuff. Rich Bruder told me that he feels the Challenger wheelbase is too long. Beyond that I really like the Shelby look and it fits on the bickel chassis I already had.

I understand. I am a Mopar guy as is my brother. Giuseppe is a Ford guy so our car is a compromise to both of our preferences. Giuseppe gets the body and I get the motor. FWIW our official team car is a Durango SRT.

It's Ford-ified with MoPower. grin
