Sorry to hear. Its always difficult to lose a family member. Sounds like a good man.

X2 Sounds like he had a good life. That doesn't necessarily make it any easier though.

As tough as a time this is for you, by your opening comment, sounds like your Dad taught you well about the big picture.

Kudos to both of you.

Sorry for your loss, it sounds like you had good relationship with a good man. I hope that you find comfort in that your Father enjoyed such a long life.
Peace.

My condolences for your loss. You only have one dad, and it sounds like you had a good and long relationship with him. That's a blessing that will serve you well in the years to come when your feelings of grief are replaced with happy memories.

I lost my mom at 60 and my dad at 73, that was 25 and 15 years ago. At first, their passing was the worst things that I could imagine happening, especially since they both had suffered through lengthy illnesses beforehand. All these years later I still miss both of them greatly, but can't help smiling when I think of happy times or something amusing they may have said. Now in my fifties, I still recall advice that they gave me decades ago - some that I didn't heed at the time, some that I did - and looking back I now realize they were right every time. And I still use their advice to this day.

Take care.

It's never easy to read about someone's passing, but it's a guarantee we all experience.
Hope he went peacefully, knowing he was loved and will be remembered.
Hopefully your family is comforted by his memory and lessons he imparted.

Sorry to hear. It'll be tough for some time, you'll think of something and your first reaction will be to ask him, because 'he'd know'. And it'll hit you that you can't just pick up the phone and call now. That'll be tough.
Lost my dad in May 2011 a day shy of his 70th birthday. Sleep apnea most likely. It takes a while to get over but now when I think of something he'd know the answer to, I just think how lucky I am that he was my dad for 42 years. Puts a smile back on my face every time. Godspeed.
