Good Morning Everyone,

What was the factory color of the headlight doors (buckets) of a Superbird? I have seen them all satin black,
all body color, and body color with just the top blacked out.

Someone more knowledgeable than me will chime in. I thought they were body color. And if I remember correctly, that's not black on top, it's a sticker.

Mine are black. Bought it in 82.

My 4 barrel bird was the same color as Real Wings. We painted mine the Organisol black with the 1/2 to 3/4 inch around the bucket. You have to feather that edge before putting the nose decals on, or it will stick out like a sore thumb!

I did mine like this in 1992 when I finished the car and changed it later on.There has been debate about this,I have seen at least 5 birds that I know of that had never been touched and body color showed around the headlight door,one still only 40 mi from me.I change because I got tired of being told mine was incorrect,took the easy way out.Also,the majority of birds had/have core support numbers,a lot don't including mine.
