Question to the Forum regarding the 70-71 A-Body disc brake dust shield... Are the disc brake dust shields supposed to be bright zinc or black?

Depends on if they are original or over the counter replacements. Originals were zinc but the replacements from the dealer were black. I have a few shields that are stamped from aluminum so that is another twist. So the answer is "it depends". Which of course is the answer for almost every question asked on here.

Production line 70-71 A-Body Kelsey Heyes disc brake shields should all have been galvanized steel.
