As in you see something for a good price listed one day, then go back the next and can't find it, even when filtering by Sold / Completed? Nothing... like it never existed.

Makes me wonder if eBarf has "selective filtering" behind the scenes that doesn't necessarily show people in certain ZIP Codes the cheapest items listed if there's more than one (Amazon seems to have something going on kind of like that, IMO). Or, maybe there was something "hinky" about the vendor and that vendor and all its listings are removed w/o leaving history.

I don't know what's really going on, but there was a very good deal on something I've been looking for that seemed to be a "Here today, gone tomorrow" listing w/ no (electronic) paper trail showing it was ever listed in the first place.

An unskilled person with a "cool idea", a bunch of porting tools, and a set of cylinder heads is a sure recipe for disaster.
I AM that person!

Haven't seen that but have seen Amazon raise their price if you don't buy it the first time you check the price. A trick I learned with them is to put it on your watch list and the price doesn't change. Also have found that I have been able to buy things cheaper on some items than my prime member friends can. Gotta pay for that free shipping somehow! LOL I just wait until I have over $25 on take the free shipping.

does that mean if your order total is $25, or an item is $25, amazon gives free shipping ?
i just ended a trial free prime deal because #1 : i don't order that much, and #2: i don't have any use for streaming music or videos, and all the other junk they "think" i want.

Did you happen to notice who the seller was and how much feedback they had? I sometimes see listings that seem to good to be true. Most times the seller has a very low feedback or is 0. Anytime I see those listings I avoid since they are usually fake and ebay takes them down in a few hours.

Total order that ships from Amazon. Some items ship direct from other sellers and don't count in that total. It'll tell you at checkout if you met the total. I always have some normal use items on watch list that are as cheap as I can buy them at the store and just add what I need.

But be careful when you checkout it will say you qualify for free shipping but they will have a pre-checked box for 2 day shipping which they charge for!!!! You have to uncheck that box and click free 5-7 day shipping.

Good luck.

No, I didn't, but that's entirely possible.

Some get removed from Ebay when they find out they are a scam.

I have seen this. Ebay will take them down and delete them if they determine them to be a scam. Not sure how they determine this, but sometimes they are easy to spot..

I saw something for a good price on E-bay and put it in my "watch" list so I could come back to it later. When I came back, the price was higher. I think the seller could see that the item was in someone's "watchlist" and increased the price because of it.

Have seen it. Have gone back for stuff that had disappeared, even if it was on my watch list. Have maybe caused it by deleting a sale for whatever reason. Maybe an item(s) gets taken outside of eBay to complete the sale or is sold locally or FTF if there's an opportunity to avoid the fees. Or a seller decides to keep an item if it doesn't look like they will get their price for it.

eBay is getting to be super PC like everything else (everything for black rifles recently disappeared overnight) but I still use it for many everyday items and avoid Amazon like the plague. Better choices, options and prices IMO.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

I've also seen it once or twice on ebay with vehicle/vehicles for sale. Completely vanished as if never was listed. Gone from "watching", "recently viewed" and all. I also assumed it got erased due to some illegal or prohibited listing practices. While bummed, I was also relieved.

Facts are stubborn things.

I've seen it before. It's usually ebay that does it when there's something wrong with the ad. I think at one point it could also happen if the seller relisted or did something to it.

Happened to me when I bought a skid of Wilton Vises on e-Bay for some ridiculously low amount.

Kind of looked like Wilton trying to off some inventory at year end as they were drop shipping right from the factory.

Many customers did receive vises but once eBay figured out they were being bought with fradulent credit cards they removed the seller. KInd of a common scam.

Yes my actions reflect on my character.

Note all I received was a refund.
