Hello About our 1970 yellow Road Runner Six Pack car! Our car was not posted as a correct or ORIGINAL! But we had some good info from other people.Like SixPackFrank,Year One, Herbs parts, and more. Also back in 2003 at the Mopar Nats a 1970 yellow Six Pack Road Runner took an impressive second that year. The car was also in 2004 Mopar Action as the TAXI DRIVER. We did our air grabber an vacuum pump an actuator rod a light silver like the car that got second at the Nats in 2003 so are we to say that we are not correct!!!

I am going to say you are close but not factory correct. I am not trying to be a know it all or slam your awesome car. However, it is very common to see the actuator done in black these days. I think it leads everyone to believe they were actually painted black originally. The photos of the NOS one above are correct. I also have an NOS actuator and bracket and it looks very much the same as the photos above. The actual color is pretty strange.. (green, gold, purple, brown...not sure exactly what to call it) it can look several different shades depending on how you look at it. The finish was a plating...not painted. The rod assembly and actuator mounting bracket were more of a raw steel or gray look rather than silver.

Reviving this very old thread.....Here are some photos of an NOS actuator fresh out of the box. The mounting bracket has almost a cosmoline type coating on it. When the coating is removed it may reveal a bare metal bracket. Also, the front and rear halves of the vacumm pod are slightly different in color. One more of a greenish gold...the other closer to black. I have two of these and they are the same.

I bought an NOS actuator last year that looks just like yours.

Also NOS, purchased in early 2004. Pod looks similar, black/greenish finish. Bracket is unpainted, zinc coated.

Bracket is not painted black from what I can tell...it is more like a coating of cosmoline or similar rust protection coating.

I bought a set-up in 1978 through a local dealer and it came looking like yours with a bare metal looking bracket.
