It took a couple years but this was built for my Dad as a driver with a little attitude...
72 Duster Body...frame tied with US Car Tool rails...
It's pretty complete so curb weight should be close to what stock was...No cage and no Fiberglass
3500 convertor...4.11 gears...275/60 M/T ET Streets on the rear...
M1 intake with a 750 Holley...
MSD ignition...coil...distibutor with timing at 36 degrees
Doug's 453 headers...
RVMB 727 transmission...
Engine is a 73 340 block bored .030 Decked .018 for 0 deck ARP main studs Mopar cast 4” crank CAT H-beam Rods Diamond dished pistons Promaxx Stage 3 heads
Sorry...I don't know any cam specs...
It ran 11.20s @ 119 in the previous owners 70 Dart with w-2 heads...3350# with a 4000 converter and 4.10s with the headers open...
It's going down as-driven with closed exhaust to the back bumper...
Maybe an 11.40???

Aluminum Promaxx...compression ratio is about 9.5-1...
A couple years back I had the 69 Dart down...stock stroke 340 and it ran 12.32 at 109...
The Duster near dead hooks on the street...leaves harder and pulls harder than the 340 in the Dart did...especially in high gear...but at 416 cu.in. it should...
Just curious what everybody thought...
Cab the track conditions should be good as there is some type of a Super Stock Show this w/e...Temps are supposed to be in the high 50's...

So I went at this the first run not really abusing it too hard...Left the line a little easy...rolled out a little early... 2nd run a little harder off the line trying to leave at an idle and ran through the end on the rug... 3rd run I ran up on the convertor some and that was the best run of all... Last pass I ran up higher on the convertor...then shifted the 2-3 a little early I think... A couple things I need to change... There is no tach or shift light as he didn't want one in the car... There's no way to really hear what a car is doing when running through closed exhaust and a helmet when the guy beside you has open headers...it makes it really hard to hear your own RPM's... We ran it just like it runs everyday on the street with no changes... After getting there and trying on a full face helmet Dad didn't want to run it through...He hasn't made a pass at the track since 1973...I've only made 8 passes since 1988... I just noticed...The time slips are labeled wrong as the #3 should be #2 and #2 should be #3... Someone who does this all of the time will be able to diagnose what everything really means... I thought it was a little weird that you can gain 3/10's without gaining any mph...

Test and Tune for a Super Stock Show on Sunday...
I'd say track prep was very good...
A few friends who race regularly were there and commented about how well they kept up with the track...

One answer, 60ft. Look at the back half numbers 4.3134 vs 4.3473. Within .034. Same power. Accelerated quicker down low. Doug Exactly. Car runs strong!
