$500 at best, probably less

I see them advertised and sitting a long time at $1,500. I think with the 727 it is worth more than $500 though.

I sold a 73 complete engine and trans out of a New Yorker last year for $1300. I did have a friend start it on his stand to make sure it was good. Motorhome engines can have funky heads and cooling systems, usually worth less than car 440's.

I think the $500 estimate is about right. It’s a 75 core motor. Ask $600, no more, if you want response.

Trans are usually different than a car shorter so not much value in them .

Motor home trans have the basic 727 BB case so that is of value and many if not most have the 5 clutch drums so that's a big plus. Truck people can also use the trans as is and build the correct shaft so there is a draw there, I know someone who put an RV trans in a 73 Charger as is and just built a shaft. as a core the trans is worth $75-100. Engine can be all over the place but I know of several RV combos selling in the $800 range but I paid a $100 for a set up of a running 40k variety in the same time period. So in the end take what you can get and advertise it with room to come down cause you know they're gonna hit you up. twocents

Most RV 440's have the Big Rods in them like the 6-pack motors

True but mixed opinions on whether that is a plus or not.

Sold my last RV 440 a few years back for 350, it was was locked up due to water in the cylinders it had the short tail 727 attached. I believe most if not all RV 440s are steel crank engines.

Uncle Tony has a video recently of a guy with a motorhome 440 in a B body. All stock, except for a 671 Blower! and mild cam. Car was pretty quick in the 8th mile - and he had been driving it for 15 years. Search Uncle Tony's garage on Youtube - you should be able to find it.
If you can get the engine and trans for less than a grand, go for it. You can swap the tailshaft on the trans pretty easily.
