It appears I am getting a certain '68 B-Body back and it runs low 10's at 130'ish so one upgrade it needs is pitching those front drums and maybe even the back at a later date. I did a search hear to see what kits people have had good luck with but found nothing and doing a search on the net came up with many many kits, most brands I have never heard of. I do probably want to go the heavier route with a street type kit as the car runs pump gas and it will see limited street duty as it did in the past eventually. So my question is what kits have you used and how do you like them?

Thanks, Keith

My car is gets a lot of street miles and see's the track as often as possible. I used the Wilwood Pro-Street kit with vented rotors. I absolutely love the way they work and the ease of install. They bolted right to the drum spindle, too.

I've done a couple of 130 mph passes and it comes down from those with ease. Car is 3,600+ lbs. with me.

Thanks GY3, That is the brand and kit I was thinking as well, I am 3600# with me in the car as well.............. up
Just got to get the car here and make sure the current wheels fit around the calipers per there site, they are narrowed
stock looking steel wheels to replicate a 69.5 RR 6 pack car.

I have been running the SSBC front brakes since 2007 , when I bought and imported the Plymouth . Had 10"rear drums , were fine till I started running 128+ . Now have rear discs , generic kit using Cadillac type calipers with handbrake , Metric GM caliper . Stops fine without fade now . No power booster .

Doctor Diff has everything you need for a disc conversion.

I'm looking at those also. Which diameter rotors did you get? 12 inch or?

I honestly don't recall off the top of my head, but 10.7" sounds correct? Bought them at least 6 years ago...

Ok ,
master cylinder is the 1 supplied by SSBC with the front brake kit , I am pretty sure it is 1" I ran it with factory booster and now without booster .
Has standard factory pedal ratio .
The caliper is iron and I had to slightly clearance it to run my 10"wide rims , ok with 8's
Caliper :

Similar kit:
https://www.performanceonline.com/M...-dana-60-Rear-Disc-Brake-Conversion-Kit/

This looks like the kit I got :
https://www.classicindustries.com/product/mp500551.html

I did have some spacer plates cut ro replicate the thickness of the drum backing plate to keep offset correct and bearings/seals in correct position . The POL kit and MasterPower kits have this supplied if I understand correctly , but be aware of this .

Andy is correct Cass (DRDiff) does have everything . He like a few others now use a mustang/ford rear caliper and a slightly smaller rotor . Cost of currency conversion plus freight stopped me buying these . Got my kit local unused for $400.00 . Seller showed me they were available , he bought them , on ebay

Tex

I'll look into that, Doctor Diff built the Dana 60 for me that's in the car still, back in about '06 or 7.
