I agree here. I don't know what to say. I have dealt with family members with troubles like this and it is such a sad thing. The people around you probably don't know how to respond because they want to be compassionate but they are in shock. I read this yesterday and didn't know if I could compel myself to respond. It is uncomfortable to live with and to talk about. Why can't this happen to some criminal or homeless jerkoff? Why does this crap happen to people that actually bring happiness to others?
I recall the story of the time that you came to our show in Sacramento and set up your Bar B Que to serve up some weenies for friends. Someone in the club asked you to stop because they thought it might cut into our sales at the food booth!
I recall that you often do that at shows that you attend, just because you are a guy that likes to be hospitable. You are a unique guy, Stu.
Cancer is such a sneaky bittch.

Yea that was a bummer of a day as i made a free breakfast for all the CCMC volunteers just to show support for the club. Then i got caught "giving away" a bottle of water to an elderly man who was going to pass out due to the heat and the long vendors lines. As anyone knows i have never once charged anyone for anything food or drink wise at an event. So the president of the CCMC told me to told me to leave the show for giving a an bottle of water to a elderly man person who may of collapsed and caused a huge mess for not himself but the club as well. I packed up and left and never went back. That was an isolated incident and i only blame the president for being short sided the rest of the CMCC members are top notch folks.
So you win some you lose some and life goes on.

After I saw this last night I made sure to call my sons. You have made an impact on them as well, especially Alan. He was speechless. You and the crowd you hang out with gave him something to do after his divorce. It means a lot to me that you took that interest in him. Take care and know that you are in our prayers.

Jeepers creepers, Stu! So sorry to hear this. Never met you in person, but in some ways - through your posts here and from Sandy's stories of his many visits - I feel I know you at least a little bit.

I know there's nothing I can say that will help you out much, but at least know that you've touched many lives in a positive way. Take care and I hope those doctors are wrong... Moparts needs Stu! beer

Awful news and I can only imagine what you and your family are feeling. Cancer is a terrible disease, and I hope if nothing else you have inspired people to give more to legitimate research charities in hopes of beating this awful life taker.

I hope you can find it in yourself to somehow find bits of joy in your remaining time, and maybe just maybe a miracle will come your way.

Facts are stubborn things.

Man Stu, this is a gutshot for sure. It’s seems it’s always the good guys. You’ve been a great internet friend as well as a gracious host at the MPM Club house when Pam and I paid you a visit. Hang in there and stay tough, enjoy time with your family. Pam and I have you in our prayer.

Sorry to hear that. Cancer. The worst disease out there.
There are some members here that are always memorable and you are one of them. Along with your insane garage.
I hope that the doctor is wrong, that you enjoy however long a time you have left and stay positive.

Stu - I'm so sorry to hear. You've been one of the most steady and level headed people on this site and with a sense a humor to boot. A real car guy's car guy. Place won't be the same without you. Fight the good fight and prayers to you and your family.

when i see your name i remember parts of a post about you driving the pink miata in SF. i dont even remember the context but got a chuckle.

my dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was given six months to live, he lived every day to the fullest and passed away 15 years later, AND, he didnt die of cancer. You have a good attitude Stu,that will get you far. keep fighting and prove them wrong

Right here Stu - there is hope! Me, I wouldn't even do the chemo - you might do better without it!

Another remedy I read about a few years ago was about lemon juice in water. Like way stronger than chemo (supposedly). Link: https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/6-lemon-health-benefits#section5

As I mentioned in another post, my Mom survived her bout with Cancer (minor bout, nothing like stage 4 honestly), but now has the onset of dementia. We heard of people having 'chemo brain' during or after chemo treatments and at first thought she had it, but, when it didn't go away after a year, they concluded she actually has the onset of dementia.

Before the chemo, my Mom was very active with friends and family, and still drove. Now, she's not allowed to drive (per Doctor) and she's slowly becoming more of a homebody. She survived Cancer, but at what cost?

I'm not sure what I would of (or could of) done differently, but had I known then, what I know now, I would have sought out alternative treatment(s).

I don't post much on this board, but I come here every day. I have always enjoyed your posts whether they were funny or insightful. I don't know you from Adam, but when I came down to the bay area to look at a car a few years ago, you invited for me and my wife to stop by. We never did contact you, but just making the offer tells what kind of a guy you are. As other have said, you can beat this, or at least prolong the time available. My sister was diagnosed with cervical cancer and after 2 years of unsuccessful treatment, the cancer clinic gave her a prescription for morphine and 3 months to live. She found another oncologist who, as he said, was more concerned with keeping people alive than just researching medicine. He kept her alive for another 3 years, most of which were pretty decent. Anyways, sorry to hear, but don't give up hope.
