There is a long piece between the lower section of the rear body and the bumper that looks like a metal filler piece. AMD sells it.
AMD 1970 Rear Challenber bumper filler
Two questions:
1. Is this Body color or orhansol on an R/T
2. What type and size of screw holds it on?

Any one have photos of their originals?

I remember them being spot-welded on. Not sure on the paint scheme though.

Screwed on. If I recall it was held on by several either #10 or #8 screws across the length. Painted body color. Again, mine was an R/T.

Trying to get a pix of the original to see what the screws looked like. And how it originally was painted.

It’s body colored with a regular pan head #8 or #10.

My old 70 Challenger vert was screwed on and body color but while we are on the subject, what about the T/A cars, was it black I assume?

Right! But am I wrong in assuming all R/T's were also black?

Maybe all 71 R/T's were black. Here's a pick of Troy's T/A with a black filler.

That strip is a 1970 only part.

Any idea why the 71's and 72's didn't have it? I installed it on my 73 when I moved the bumpers in.

Is this the price you are referring to? Looks like it has pre drill slots to mount with screws

Seems like it. Just wondering what the original screws were? #6, #8, #10 and what the looked like. And how it was originally painted.

Pretty sure it was painted what ever color the tail panel was painted. The only black tail panels in 1970 "should" be T/As. R/T's "should" be body color.(with the exception of the cars that received the SE tail panel trim)
