Bill Miller called and says he has a hemi block ready to ship to me. I think I ordered 6 months ago or so. He said the next 6 are going to be wedge blocks. I assume these are presold but if you needed one you could call and find out.

These are his design that he's been working on re-releasing for awhile. It's a slightly updated version of his previous block. Nothing to do with the KB block.

Let us know how it looks when you get it. I've been interested in one for awhile, since he said that he was making new ones last year. I've been waiting to hear that he's finally shipped some, before I ever thought about sending a deposit.

My Engine Builder partner just built a 572 HEMI with one these later blocks. Typical cleanup required but no major issues.

Yes I agree on the Bill Mitchell (World Products). Two more people I deal with got theirs last week as well. Very good news. I have talked to them very recently and there are more coming. So far so good on both fronts. These were ordered back in the spring but they are actually here.

I have a world products aluminum block, that I bought about 10 years ago, hurt it this spring, when I called they told me they would start production sometime this summer. I decided to fix mine rather than wait. Its been a process, everything took a month to get done, took a month to get it welded, took a month for a custom sleeve, took a month for machine work getting sleeve installed, decked, align hones etc. took a month to get custom pistons, so the summer is now about over, BUT my rotating assembly is at the machine shop getting balanced, my last hurdle in getting it back together.

Over all how would you rate their product. Been waiting for a yr on a KB and may just go a different aluminum block.

Ok

I have had very good luck with my World blocks. They are older blocks, but I had engines in the 1100-1200 zone that lived good lives. That said, if the KB's were available, I would want one. I wouldn't hesitate to use a Bill Mitchell World aluminum block though since they are available.

Thanks for the reply. That is info that helps. Would really like the KB but since its made of unobtanium looks like I may just go with the BM block. At least we know people are getting them.

Ok

I raced my engine 10 years with no issues, freshened it once and it was like new inside. It broke a rod was my fault, just left them in the engine too long, they were mickey Thompson aluminum rods. I never kept track of the runs, but at least 5 or 6 hundred at least. Made around 700HP 9.65 was the best time, in a 3200lb car.

I have used four Wolrd/Bill Miller blocks and most needed very little to be useable. The one exception is the block in my Stratus which required a good deal of work to be useable. Having said that all of them have been at least 1000 hp, the one in the Stratus is making a couple hundred more than that. I would not hesitate to buy one especially for the price tag that is $2000 less than KB and they actually deliver. On a side note I see all over facebook that KB is apparently FINALLY machining the Wedge blocks. So hopefully those waiting will finally get their product and MAYBE thye will manage to get some blocks for dealers to stock. Although I am not holding my breath at this point for that

I have a Mitchell wedge block. I started at 557” and ended up damaging the crank due to an oiling issue. The issue was that the bore the oil pump fits into broke into the bore for the pickup. Which caused it to airate the oil. Bill stood behind his product and had it repaired free of charge but.... I had to buy a new rotating assy. So I went to 572” and so far made just under 900 on the dyno. Nice product but, I would advise to have your builder just make sure all oil passages are intersecting and free of debree.
