Mis matched components somewhere along the line or something causing too much travel on the release fingers thereby bottoming them on the springs. twocents

Looks like too much travel from some part of your linkage or Z-bar points are off. Easy fix is a clutch pedal stop to limit the travel shruggy

I just went through this with all the correct linkage parts, turned out to be the clutch itself i.e. pressure plate or disc too thick. Wound up making a clutch pedal stop.

I had the very same issue awhile ago with a 70 RR that I had....

Turns out I had the in-correct pressure plate to flywheel attaching screws. If using a 10.95" "scalloped" pressure plate, you MUST use the correct pressure plate-to-flywheel attaching bolts. If you don't, the edges of the disc interferes with the heads of the attaching bolts and it seems as tho the clutch will not dis-engage when engine is running, but you are able to shift thru the gears when engine is shut off.

This cost me two days of my life I'll never get back.....LOL!

See this link......

Hope this helps.....
