I've got a bone stock 74 440, the Dyno numbers were less than impressive. 300.4hp/426ftlbs. Now that I be baselines it I'm going to start improving things, my goal is to run maximum compression on 91 octane with iron heads on the street. Through the Dyno testing I will be starting with 11.7-1 and race gas, then dropping to 11.13-1 and then down to whatever it will survive at. The cam I'm running is measured at 253@.050. Measuring the intake closing point it had a dynamic compression ratio of 6.44-1, that's at 11.7-1 measured.Quench will not be a factor as the closest will be .071.
The chassis with me in it weighs 3700, 4.56 gear, and a convertor to match the torque peak, operating temps, , 160-180. What's your best guess on final compression ratio?
