I have a set of repro G 60/15 polyglas tires mounted on 15 x 7 390 rallye wheels that I once had on my 71 Roadrunner. Will the G 60s fit on the front of a 70 challenger without rubbing?

I had a 71 Challenger, with mildly offset slotted mags. Es rubbed the front of the front fender when turning and Gs rubbed inside the fender when going over bumps with a light load.

I would thing Gs would be tough to get to fit on front.

However this was in 1971 so memory could be off a little!

Yes, but wheel backspace is important. A G60 is roughly 26.8 x 9.76 with a bit of fudge factor +/- on its actual size. I currently run a 26x10 radial (spot on in size) on a 15x8 rim with 4.5" backspace. It fits but required I roll the outter fender lip at the very top. 15x7 with 4.5" back space or a 15x8 4.75" backspace would fit a bit better. The original style 15x7 wheels with 4.25" backspace are going to create a very tight fit to the outer fender.

Another consideration is that the Polyglas the OP has is more of a square tire width/edge wise than most radials, so it needs a little more turning clearance frame/fender, the largest tire I've gotten on the front of my 71 Challenger with no rubbing with rallye rims (4.250 BS) was GoodYear Eagle GT II 255/60/15

Tires vary amongst mfgs in actual size even in the same size/ratio, lots of variables like back space, ride height, etc, etc to account for... the OP is just going to have to mount them up and try them on, I've always found what fits for one guy never works out for the other, too many little variables....

Used to run G60 x 14's on the front back in the day with no problem but can't say what the issues would be with 15's.

Dayclona - Isn't a G60 15 equivalent to a 255 60/15?

In my experience a G 60-15 is kinda between a 245 60-15 and a 255 60-15. I generally use a 245 60-15 when running radials to mimic G 60's.
