Depends on your carb and application.
Wood or resin insulate better than metal.
For Holleys where I want to insulate the bowls from radiant intake heat, I like the GM shield (2nd-gen Z28).
It extends under the bowls & a bit at the sides too.
That and some thicker fiber gaskets each side have worked best for me in hot environments.

Engine is a 360 with a Victor 340 intake and Holley 750. Have issues once in a while but not all the time with the gas boiling in the carb and creates a stumble when leaving. Looking at trying to help keep the fuel cooler.

Use the GM heat shield and put fire-sleeve on the fuel lines = problem solved.
Works like a charm even on an RB stuffed into an A-body in summer driving.

I run this carb heat shield and a 1" phenolic spacer. Sorry I don't know what brand the heat shield is as it was laying around my garage for a long time before I used it. This setup works good for me to stop fuel boiling in hot weather. Ron

I run the Holley 108-51 that has extensions that go out to the ends of the bowls, in the same vein as the previously mentioned GM gasket but more expensive, I'm sure. I put it on earlier this year after I had annoying fuel boil problems on an 80* early spring day, while we were still on winter blend fuel.

We had a 10 day stretch of high 90s-low 100s days this summer. I drove my Barracuda to work most of those days, soaking up the AC. Coolant got a needle's width above 200 in city traffic, but no flooding from fuel boil after shut down and no start problems 20 minutes after shutdown. It is either a cheap heat shield or an expensive base gasket though, I'm not sure which.
