I just got a call from a friend with a 69 Dart that he is fixing up.
He has a problem with the right front wheel in that it wants to turn in to the car between (as he says) 15 and 30 degrees while the front left wheel is straight.
When he pushes the car back it moves back to semi straight.
He has changed the upper and lower ball joints, upper and lower bushings and the strut bushings.
He did a re and re of the K/frame and said it all looks ok..
I haven't seen the car personally because of the distance, but I thought maybe you guys might have seen this before, because I haven't.
I told him to check the center link and replace the tie rods and sleeves.
Thanks.

Yes they are loose not to spec, but he says it's way more then that.
I wish I could see it so I could rule out some stuff.

In case it matters, it's an original drum brake car with 318.

Is the whole spindle toeing in? I think you're on the right track with the centerlink. There are only so many things that can cause it, all of which should be evident if he looks under there when he tries to push it forward. Could be tons of slop in the tie rods, idler arm, etc, etc.

After all that work, has he torqued everything down? Trashed bushings in the idler arm perhaps?

Thats what I tried telling him.
You cant just stick some new parts in and not have it set up, and hope to get a clear answer.
I told him to finish rebuilding the front end get it up to spec and then see where it's at.
