Thanks to Gary and Mike (my restoration/mechanic guys) who can make anything work. It took a lot of fabrication to get the carbs, linkage and valve covers etc to work with this intake! The intake was NOS and I really wanted something on the car that would take you back to the old C/FX days of making a 273 run in that class....even though the engine in the car is now a 360.

Actually the intake was local out here in eastern Canada.

Have you driven it yet?
I built a 383 hot street and strip motor for a customer who became a friend that had bought the Eddy STR and a pair of either Holley 600 or 650 D.P. carbs, I built it based on him using a good race converter, good ignition, fuel system and 4.56 gears in the back with short slick race tires to fit his 1963 Dart 270. He got in a rush to drive it and ended up with a stock converter, stock 2.43 gears in the 7 1/4 rear end with tiny rear tires and stock fuel system rant down
That combination was very lazy below 3000 RPM but once it got above that it would set you way back in the seat grin up
Good luck on your use with this set up up
Let us know your results please work

It actually took two linkage kits to fabricate the one you see in the car.
It takes a lot of custom work to get these to work.

I can't imagine that linkage working correctly (as in the carbs opening the same amount) when one of the arms (where the links attach) is pointed forward and the other is pointed back. If you say it works, I'll have to take your word for it.

If the lengths of the arms are the same, then they should open the same

iagree scope
I've set up tunnel ram linkages for cross mounted dual Holley carbs with the arms on the shafts pointed towards the front of the carbs at around a 45 degree forward and the moved them so they where mounted around 45 degrees to the rear, forward works better up
I also experimented with the side linkages and bell cranks at 45, 90 and around 120 degrees from straight up shruggy

Looks cool. Be interested to know how it works. Those cross ram manifolds usually don't work very well on the street so good luck sorting that combo out. The vacuum secondaries might help. Hopefully you added a wide band in each head pipe so you can figure out what is going on with the fuel distribution. The factory guys didn't have wide bands back in the 60's which is probably why they eventually gave up on cross ram intakes.

Mopar engineers design the long cross rams in 1958. in 1961 they shorten the runners up and increased the intake and exhaust port sizes to make the Max Wedge package that had the shorter intake runners and a lot bigger plenum area under the carbs.
I'm not sure when and who came out with the tunnel ram intakes which ended upmaking the cross rams intakes obsolete work shruggy
I wasn't overly impress with the Eddy STR intake on that 383 motor at the time we used it and now after owning and driving several different cars with stock M.W motor and then later owning and driving a hemi cross ram motor in a drag car I can say there are far better parts than the Eddy STR intakes blush

The lengths match, but the throttle movement per degree of shaft rotation will not.
A lever @ 12 o'clock will move more from a horizontal lever pulling backward than a lever @ 1 o'clock.
A lever @ 3 o'clock won't move at all.
A lever @ 6 o'clock will move the other way.

The long B and RB long ram intake where never used on any Hemi motors, ever scope They where introduced on the 1959 Chrysler 300 with the standard intake port size heads with bigger valves and some where put on some B motors in 1958 as a race package that was not promoted back then is what I have heard but not verified by anyone at Chrysler confused
The 1964 race hemi came with the aluminum cross ram intake like the Max wedge cars came out with in 1962, some of the very early ones had AFB carbs like the 1964 Max wedge motors had. The A990 race hemi drag cars had Mag cross rams intake that year with the SS Holley carbs only. Mopar went back to the aluminum hemi cross rams in 1968 for the Hurst Darts and Baracuda scope

1. Because it was all they had
2. Because they didn't know any better
3. Because it looked cool
4. Because other people were doing it
