I know the starter thing has been talked about a lot. I have a 383 727 engine trans combo that I am working on. What mini starter will fit from the parts store? Thanks

All of them for any year Mopar V8 scope wrench
Some of the SB mini starters may need the connecting strip removed, some years don't confused shruggy

Does the old dust shield fit? I see that mancini has a shield listed for a mini.

74 Challenger, bought it new. In 1978 I replaced the original 318 with a 446 and 727. Mild cam, Jardine headers, and Holley Sniper EFI.
New engine! 511" RB, Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, Eagle rotating assy, Comp hyd roller cam, Doug's 2" headers.

Are you talking about the front trans stamp steel dust cover? If so I'm sure they will fit fine, I don't remember having or hearing of any one else having any issues with them shruggy

That's what I'm talking about. It fits between the stock starter and the bell.

Thanks for the reply.

The Mancini shield is for the mini-starter. The factory shield has a large hole in it for the factory starter. The mini starter shield has a smaller hole in it to match the mini starter.
