The last time I bought Stoddard solvent, it was $8 per gallon, Kerosene was about the same price.

napa sells solvent in a 5 gallon bucket but we used to use kerosene and add a qt of gunk to it to take kerosene smell away. worked swell.

I've used Super Agitene solvent for the last 30+ years. Works great and the fumes are fairly mild. It does take the oil off your hands so you need to wear gloves or else you're hands will feel like they are 100 years old.

thanks for the link john ! up bow
i have ALL the parts to do the filter deal on the shelf, and a great "lil giant" pump as well !
i have been thinking about how an oil filter would work, and now i know. i also thought about using a diesel fuel filter.
what does anyone think about that ?

No problem sir. I don’t know why a fuel filter wouldn’t work if you have the mount. I already had the Ford Mopar Mount here so that’s what I will use if I ever get off my azz and finish a job. I’m a great starter of projects and a bad finisher. I have an engine break in stand 85% finished that will be getting listed for sale one of these days.

I was up in the Nu-Be area Thursday when I made a steak and smoked meat run.

^^^ appreciated & that is certainly better than the $90 the napa guy quoted me (I didn't get a name/# on what stuff he looked up, I just asked for some solvent tank solvent & that's what he quoted me). He did say they sell alot of it. this ain't gonna be cheap no matter what, but no way around it.
