What are you using for a throttle cable bracket?

It is the stock bracket. When you mount the cable to the bracket you are using about 1 inch or better of stroke. I can cut the stop off the pedal and that could possibly work. Only thing is the pedal will be high off the floor. Like I said the cable that was on the car works stroke wise just wont reach the mounts. I never had this kind of problem before doing all kinds of swaps.

I read back through and thought I saw you have Andy's bracket. My experience with his bracket is that it moved the mounting point back from the carb, and I needed a cable with a longer stroke, so I think you've got the same thing going on.

I run a stock cable and hold down now, but I removed the lip on the back of the cable which allowed me to mount the cable more forward in the hold down. If you're off by 1/4 of an inch or even 1/2 this approach may work for you (vs removing the stop from the pedal).

What is the overall length of your cable? I bet you've got the 24.25 inch one. Mancini sells a 29 inch one with the 3 3/4 stroke, that's the one I bought when I was using Andy's bracket. I just checked and the stroke on it is 3 3/4.

What number Mancini cable did you use?

As you can see my original measures from tip of jacket to ball 3 3/4 inches and the Mancini measures 2 3/4 inches. Somewhere there is a loss of an inch. Mancini offers no solution and they do not make custom cables. I did contact another less than friendly place and they claim there measurement is 1 15/16 inches which I do not believe is correct at all. My measurements are made with cable off car pulling to wide open throttle and as you can see from tip of jacket to ball. I am at a loss. Any input would be great. Thanks.

I have the same problem but hadn't started measuring yet. I have a longer Mancini cable on my EFI and it doesn't open all the way and is bottomed out so close in the closed position that sometimes the throttle arm doesn't come all the way back at idle. I need a stock throw and about an inch longer cable to replace the incorrect one. Someone post the correct answer when it is found.

Thanks Matt. I ordered it and hopefully I can make it work. I called Mancini and the guy I talked to had no idea as to what was going on. If this works that's great for me. It is a real shame that Mancini is not on the ball as I have done a lot of business with them in the past. I will keep you posted.

Matt GTX Thanks for the help. I just fitted the Mancini MRE8668 and the stroke is perfect. A little longer jacket but it will still nicely fit. With the correct stroke I can use the carbs upper hole so the pedal effort will be reduced. Thanks again.
