I want to do an upgrade for my A518 46RH trans that will go behind my 2014 6.4 hemi SRT8. The engine produces 470 HP and 485 ft pound of torque.

Which parts do I need to do the upgrade?

didn't know that trans would even bolt up to that engine.

Talk to CRT, John Cope, he is a vendor here.

I would do a search on this and other Mopar sites concerning CRT/John Cope before I spent any money there... Jim.

A good shift kit and extra clutches! That should last along time! I'll give you an update in 8mo when mine is done!

That is so easy it’s not funny. A good valve body, high pressure, about 200 psi. A good converter and upgrade all the drums to hold more clutches! Including OD direct and brake.

use the guts out of a V10 or cummins tranny----on the RH you only need to change the governor weight....

if its a 2wd application, I would do a nag1 with at stand alone controller.

Jerry,

When is your website going to be done? Still selling the serpentine belt kits for BB and Hemi Mopars?

The more speeds the merrier, ride in something with an auto shift with a lot of gears where you can keep on the power peak of the motor, its like adding 150hp.

I was thinking the same. I'm still gathering parts for my build. Have a 6.1 and a 46RH for the 71 Duster but have started to hesitate.
Wouldn't a modern tranny with more gears be better?
Then it comes to size. To fit the 46RH in I need to do some cutting and fabbing a new support. Then I could cut a little more and make room for something better with more gears.
Or is there a slimmer multi gear tranny out there? Best shift-bang for the bucks? What options do we have?

yes you'll be doing fab work either way. Less people have done the nag1 so more pioneering there. Then the cost of the Sound German controller for the nag1 and the learning curve. I plan to do it someday and have a nag1 now for fab work.

The Nag1 weighs less, about 160 lbs w/ convertor vs about 200 lbs w/ convertor for the 46RH. It might take less hp to turn it too. Talk to Russel at Sound German Automotive, he is an expert on the Nag1, has all kids of goodies for them too, besides the controller.

I have sent a bunch of questions to Sound German. I have only good experience from ZF transmissions so it will be interesting to hear what they have to say about NAG1 compared to 8HP70.
