Looking at getting ATI Damper part number 917470E, Which lists as working with stock cover and pulley alignment. Can anyone confirm stock pulleys will line up with this Damper. Thanks.

Is that the part number for a BB?
If so what year are you working on?

Yeah I have that damper on my 440 with stock timing cover and pulleys. Lined up straight for me

ATI 917470E

I believe that I need to use a 0.060" spacer behind the WP pulley.

I bought the water pump spacer he mentioned but didn't need it when I mocked everything up.

I used Superformance gaskets everywhere, which are thicker than fel pro. That could be a difference or some other variable.

.060 is less than 1/16" I bet the factory wasn't that precise.

And it's with an aftermarket WP housing and pump. WP to block and WP housing to WP gaskets are 0.030".

At the end of the day, I would say it lines up as best as one could expect considering the stack/variables.

Also depends if you use the oil slinger or not. The oil slinger pushes the damper forward a small amount. Gasket thickness will also change pulley alignment and so will the type of pulley that you use. Reproduction and aluminum pulleys might not be correct.

Got the ATI Damper today and measured pulley location against a stock damper. Was only 0.03 inch difference. Using Stock pulley setups with this Damper should not be a problem.
