Hi,

So would a .010X rod bearing for extra oil clearance be .009 right? So why did I get an .011 ?

Sounds like a simple question but I will explain after I get an answer. But im trying to figure out why a new set of bearings have 15 marked 10X and one 011? Did I get a jacked bearing in the mix or one from a diff batch? It seems I got jacked.

Thanks.

I measure every rod and main journal first and then measure the rods and main bearing in the block and rods torque down to see how much oil clearance I actually have scope Usually it is not enough with regular under size bearings but I like really loose oil clearances like .0040+ on the mains and at least .0030+ on the rods twocents Take nothing for granite tsk check all of them scope
Let us know what you find on that one marked .0110 work

If these were two matched sets there would be .002 diff between the two, .009 to .011 and the shell marked .011 is .001 thicker then the shell marked .010X

So I got one shell for a .011 set and 15 shells for the .009 set.

Wonderful.

I like King main bearings but not so on the rods. The tang for locating the bearing in the rod was off on two sets and it would not center the bearing. It was actually sticking past the side of the rod on several. I had to remove part of the tab to center the bearing. Like cab says, check every bearing clearance. I like a dial bore guage best. It is cheap insurance. I also like to size my rods AFTER I get the crank turned. That way you can have the rod clearance set to each journal perfectly. A good shop will do that for you.

It doesn't matter what the crank size is, you size the rod to spec. The bearing is made to work in that size hole. Then you buy under/oversize bearings to get the clearance where you want it.

Just to follow up on this, I emailed the seller and King Bearigs, KB told me to go through the dealer and even though I had bought them three months ago and just got to using them they said it was an error on there part (KB) and have me a new set of bearings on the way and a call tag for the jacked set.

So other then a bit of grief, im not out the $70. So props to King Bearings for standing behind there product.
