I know it ain't a Hemi, but they should sit on the top edge of the valve cover closest to the intake.

You can thank Terry (aka mccannix) for this information.

Is there one or two feet on the base?

Hi Snoopy...There's two....But the 383 version had a single "foot"... Here's an old pic that Scott Smith had posted a few years ago from an original set-up...You can see the feet across from each other...

That's what I thought, but I couldn't prove it with any information I had available. When I bought the feet from Terry, he supplied 2 brackets and 2 feet but his instructions only showed the location of 1 foot. The parts book only shows 1 foot. Is the other foot located directly opposite the one I have shown in Terry's sketch?

I have an original that someone tore the feet off of at some point, but the old spot welds are still visible. I'll take a pic tonight when I get off work.

And I did find another pic of the original set-up that Scott Smith had submitted...I have this one listed as early 05 thread... It's my understanding that they are welded in the same location{on the base} 6-bbl and hemi but the secondary bolt-on pieces are different between them...

I found the print you referenced, but it doesn't show the second foot. It does however mention it in the "M" note shown in your picture.

Thanks for taking the time to look for the additional information.

Snapped this photo this morning. You can see what's left of the original feet. Some moron twisted them off many decades ago.

A little known fact is that the feet and brackets were actually scheduled to be deleted on the 440-6 shaker base for the 1971 model year.
I dont think it actually took place on the date shown in this Fram print, but it may have at some time in production.
This would account for the reason that a lot of NOS 440-6 shaker bases have no support brackets.

Terry,
I have an NOS Hemi Shaker base plate that doesn't have the feet. Thanks for locating a set for me.

NO problem Snoopy...
I believe most NOS 440-6 pak and Hemi shaker bases, which were actually just overrun for Chrysler's inventory, were shipped from Fram with no feet brackets installed.
Because they carried a separate part number, you were expected to order them and install yourself.

So I have the feet but not the brackets. Where might someone find a set?
