Work's been kinda tough lately and I've has some (relatively minor) personal issues that have been sticking in my craw and causing me to lose sleep and generally be an A-hole to everyone around me.

Last night, I took my daughter on one of my "drives to nowhere" where I just get in my car, put on some good music, and just drive around to clear my head.

The night was warm, but not hot, and humid enough that the wind cooled you off. We had the top down, there was a full moon, and the music was good.

It seemed like everyone decided to stay home because there were very few cars on the road and because the top was down you could hear the cicadas over the sound of the car. The car was running beautifully and every shift landed perfectly in place. It seemed like the universe was saying "your problems are inconsequential. This is what matters."

Nothing like a drive to give you some perspective.

Wow, I could feel it from you description.

I love the night drives to nowhere. Music playing, windows open (I don't have a drop top but I do have a sliding rear window), and just relaxing and letting the stress go.

I'm glad you had a good one.

Reminds me of this cool old Walter Egan tune:

The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.

A nice ride in a good car with good company is good therapy even if nothing's bugging you!
Glad you had a good time and found some peace & perspective.
