I've been thinking of stepping up from a 3" to a 3.5" exhaust.
I've looked at all kinds of mufflers online and the Magnaflows look temping shruggy, but want some input from some of you that run a 3.5" exhaust on a street/strip car. What are you running?

I have 4" H pipe system that dumps at the axle on my cuda w/ Hooker Max Flow mufflers. They are a straight through style muffler and are surprisingly quiet.
WAY quieter than I expected them to be. Been 5.60 at 126 in the 1/8 with them at nearly 3900 lbs.

My old pump gas street Duster ran right at .02 ET (6.99 with them off ) quicker with a .2MPH (95.4 VS 95.2 MPH)increase in the 1/8 mile by removing the full length 3.0 inch exhaust with a set of Magna Flows 14x7 oval with three inch in on the side and out the center no baffles at all mounted at the rear bumper shruggy work
That car ended up running a best of 9.993 at 134.7 MPH in the 1/4 with me in the car weighing 3450 Lbs. through that exhaust system. My message is you may not see any gain, maybe some luck The only real way to know is to try it scope up

How loud do you want it? I like Borla XR1 and a copy cat racingmuffler. I currently use 3.5" Kooks are interesting, but never listened to them in person.

What is your current combination and why do you think you need 3.5 exhaust?

Sorry Dave i dont.
I will say they are the sweetest muffs i have ever had. They are pretty loud. Near Dynomax bullet loud. But at anything less than full throttle they do knock down a lot of noise on the street. Extremely good looking.
Come over to Fri night test or the Northern Nats this Saturday at 131. You can hear them in person.

Here's an idle clip of mine.

Here's one at the track. A few clips of it on the street and then a pass at 1:00. Can hardly hear it over the turbo car.

Older Hedman headers w/3.5 collector, 3" pinch bent head pipes and Dynomax 3" Ultra Flows, with current engine.
There will be an engine change next year, 7.1" rod 463" with TF240 heads and probably change to TTIs in the process.
It was a suggestion someone threw at me that a 3.5" exhaust may free up some power.

Chip, I believe your car is quieter than mine at cruise and Idle.

I posted the videos b/c I figured you might not believe me, lol. I was VERY surprised the first time I fired it up w/ the Hookers on it. It's quiet enough that I actually don't really like it, lol. I've just been so used to it being loud for so long.
I normally race it w/ a pair of 4" Bullets right off the collectors, but the street car class I've been running they kinda frown on that b/c they are obviously real loud. I have not compared the Hooker system w/ my other "race" mufflers. I also have a pair of 4" one chamber Flowmasters I use occasionally just b/c I like the way they sound. They are wayyy louder than the Hookers are. The Flowmasters are what I've always run on the street.
The 4" H pipe setup w/ the Hooker mufflers weighs about 60 lbs. so I'm sure just the weight alone is hurting it.

Here's a pic of the H pipe when it had the Flowmasters on it. I just swapped them for the Hookers...last pic.

I would like to see and hear your car run, but I have a road trip to Detroit this weekend with some friends. I'm planning on a tnt at MidMichigan on Aug 30. If weathers good i'll be there, if not sept 7 I will be at Milan with the car. http://extrememufflers.com/, these are similar to a Borla, but cost way less. Been thinking about something quitter myself .

Another option...Ray (sixpackgut) put a pair of Dynatech Split Flow mufflers on his cuda and it sounds awesome! I believe they are 3.5".
