I thought they look a lot like cranes but they do not have the name Crane cast in the bottom. They have interference fit adjusting screws but appear to be spot faced for locknut type adjusting screws. Desirable or not?

SB rockers are straight....... that one looks offset to me..... so it should be a BB rocker.

Looks like the same casting as the Cranes....... but with the “wrong” adjuster screw.
There’s a machined flat on the rocker for a lock nut, and that’s a friction lock adjuster in the rocker.

Maybe an “early” Crane rocker that’s had the adjuster replaced.

They aren’t “Isky” rockers........ although at one point Isky was selling the Crane rockers.

The actual Isky rockers have a distinctive look:

I have a set of those also that I am going to keep. Mine are not bushed. Did you.do that or RAS?

I think the other set must have been made by Crane for some other cam company to market. Who knows when the adjusters were.swapped. I found them when I was looking through stuff that I have had forever. Need to thin out the stash of old stuff that I will likely never use. I will have a pile of old parts in the 4sale section soon. Some used some never used but most are approximately 40+ years old.

Those aren’t my Isky rockers....... it’s just a pic I grabbed on line.

I have a set of Isky’s, but no pics of them handy.

I lightened mine up by reducing that big “knob” out on the end, and trimming the rib a bit.

Now that you mention it I remember that erson had iron rockers that looked like Cranes. Bet that's what these are.
Thanks all.

Crower had ductile iron rockers available in the late 1970s that looked like that. They had no lock nut and had an interference fit on the adjuster. When I bought them new and got them I was unsatisfied with the adjuster arrangement being concerned that they would not hold adjustment. So I called Dave Crower and expressed my concern. I recall that switching them over to a standard adjuster with a lock nut was really not an option as the threads were unique. Dave agreed to take the rockers back. I then bought the Iskys (which were more money). Still have the Isky's today.

not sure about the crowers but pretty sure the crane and sig's are the same. the cam grinders don't make much stuff so i'll bet the rockers were sourced from the same foundry. I've had crane rockers with and without the crane script. I've used the interference thread adjusters back in the day (replacing the jam nut adjusters) and the thread pitch is the same for both. pro's and cons to using either adjuster. the interference fit adjuster is hollow and they can break off in the rocker if ones not careful (they're not designed for constant adjusting).

Actually, the OP’s pic doesn’t look much like 273 rockers at all to me.

1st pic- 273 rockers
2nd pic- Crane SB rocker
3rd & 4th pic- Crane BB rockers

That rocker is mine and yes I had them blueprinted,bushed,re-directed oil passages, trimmed down, and new hardware installed by RAS about 6 years ago and still going strong
Cost me about $500 with shafts .

I have 3-4 sets of 273 rockers, and they all have a casting 'knob' on the underside, presumably where they poured them.

It may be ugly, but it sure is slow.

Girls comb their hair in rear view mirrors and the boys try to look so hard....

They look like fast's last pic from above. Definitely not straight like small block rockers

This is a close up of the pair of Crane rockers above.

I’ve seen this casting mark on a number of different kinds of rockers through the years.
