What is interesting is the Proline/Alan Johnson 481 has been so successful, that other people/manufacturers are starting to building combos based off of it....And its got water jackets in it!

Nice stuff, and I’m looking forward to seeing guys run them in Drag Week......... but......

Nothing there looked like it would be suited towards the “faint of wallet”....... like me. drool

Bet you will see them on Drag Week.......this year. It would be really cool if they did a water jacketed Hemi block based off the AJ one.....

It looks almost to pretty to run, lol. Pretty interesting what he did with the top row of head bolts.

I'm betting Tom Baily will be running one.

What I find interesting is they can develop an entire engine package and actually have a couple on Drag Week this year, but you still can't get a Hemi block....

I'm not sure if that's funny or sad, but you are spot on!

I heard a roomer that a billet Hemi water block is being designed tested.
This was from a reliable source that works for one of the main block manufacturers.
I was standing there when he was talking about it.

Thanks for sharing that link.

Very interesting, pretty remarkable product apparently designed for Drag Week and similar events.

Kinda surprised that Tom Bailey is not getting the first one, unless he already has his.

One think that is obvious, Steve Morris is a bright articulate guy.

He is a pretty amazing person.....Look at how many dyno vids he has on his site, and then think about all the build ups to get to that point....Then there are the ones he doesn't post, plus all the ones that go bad...Seems like he has learned a thing or two.

I was thinking about somthing the other day that is relevant to his video and his builds....Around me, the higher octane 93 is disappearing quickly. There is only a couple places left to get it at. Pretty soon all I will have to choose from is 87 or 90 with ethanol in it, or 90 without....No more 93....

I don't know if the intake he makes them or Visnor, but with three injectors per cylinder, you can have two separate fuel systems....That might be a reality in a couple years for every street/strip car there is thanks to this watered down crap they call fuel these days.....really 90 is going to be "high" octane?

It's sad for those having the funds and wanting a block.

What's get me about a lot of engine shops/guys like Morris, Moran, Bischoff etc... Do these guys ever sleep? laugh2

The 481X engine has been around since the 90's. Alan Johnson, with his brother Blaine, raced Top Alcohol with it back then. I think they won a TAD championship with it in 96 or 98. The things racers do for a weight break!

I was thinking that too, one (larger) cell for straight pump gas feeding one injector for street driving and a smaller cell set up for the alcohol of your choice feeding two huge injectors that kick in for the big boost. The pump for the gas could be fairly small, minimizing fuel heating problems on the road.
