I'm trying to install these speakers in my '70 Charger:

https://www.classicindustries.com/product/1969/plymouth/roadrunner/parts/mb2099.html

The issue I'm having is that the heater control bracket, where the top cable mounts, is hitting the left speaker magnet. I don't see a solution other than cutting the heater control bracket, which I don't want to do. Has anyone ran into this before?

The magnets are bigger than the factory ones..on my cuda, I had to modify the metal dash to fit..a dremel or a carbide bit helped.

I am going with 3.5" and it is still very tight but I think they will fit. My adapter plate has the speakers a little closer together. Would spacing them farther away from the top of the dash help? There is a bit more room between the magnet and the speaker.

A lot of my radio customers use this set up that fits the factory 4x10 location from turnswitch because the magnets are smaller .

If you are using the factory bracket look at it closely, it is not symmetrical. Try turning it around. Or make your own bracket that will move the speakers slightly forward.

Ran into same issue on my 1970 Sport Satellite AC car (the control is even more into the speaker area) . . . did not put front speakers in, just the 6x9s in the package tray . . . and a bazooka tube subwoofer in the trunk

Thanks for the answers, all. I think I've got some ideas now, hopefully I can get this to work.
